Job Description

The Red Gate Group is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Media Operations Officer to support the Central Command Public Affairs Directorate (CCPA) in Tampa, FL. In this role, you will be a key player in shaping and delivering CENTCOM’s messaging strategy, ensuring clear and effective communication with both U.S. and international audiences. Your work will help inform the public, build transparency, and support CENTCOM’s mission of defeating adversaries, promoting regional stability, and safeguarding U.S. interests.

This position requires strong media expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments, including crisis situations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate communication products such as public affairs guidance, media responses, talking points, and press releases.
  • Provide media training expertise to senior CENTCOM leaders and designated spokespersons, preparing them for media engagements
  • Conduct daily synchronization calls with public affairs counterparts to align messaging strategies.
  • Plan and execute public affairs briefings and coordinate media embeds for key CENTCOM events.
  • Provide real-time media support during crisis situations, assisting with 24/7 surge operations as needed.
Qualifications

 

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Strong proficiency in media communications, crisis communications, and dissemination strategies.
  • Ability to research, write, and deliver concise, effective media responses under tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of global outreach techniques and social media platforms for strategic communication.
  • Familiarity with public affairs guidance development, Associated Press (AP) Style, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong briefing, collaboration, and critical thinking skills in high-tempo environments.
  • Understanding of U.S. military structure, culture, and operational language.

Desired Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI Clearance.
  • Previous experience in public affairs, journalism, communications, or media relations.
  • Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) is a plus.
  • Experience supporting 24/7 shift operations and crisis media response.
