Roc Nation is seeking a Head of Marketing, who will report to the President of Distribution and coordinate all label departments' (digital marketing, publicity, video production, street marketing, radio promotion etc.) efforts leading up to, and throughout, album releases to ensure proper execution of overall marketing plan objectives. This position is based in our New York City headquarters and will play a critical role in the future growth and success of our company. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, highly motivated individual who functions with confidence and expertise in a fast-paced, dynamic and rapidly changing business environment. The Head of Marketing will be a strategic and operational self-starter who can develop and implement a vision and lead, develop and mentor a team of marketing professionals. WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO Act as primary liaison between artist and label, maintaining awareness of communication any artist issues, plans, sensitivities, etc. to the team while also diplomatically representing the label's interests to the artist. Coordinate all distribution departments' (digital marketing, publicity, video production, street marketing, radio promotion etc.) efforts leading up to, and throughout, album releases to ensure proper execution of overall marketing plan. Develop and execute global marketing strategy by managing all aspects of international campaign. Deliver the overall artistic vision, providing the direction and motivation for a team of international product managers. Represent Global vision and needs to senior management, artists, managers and other key stakeholders. Guide artists and management through marketing plans and promotional schedules. Work in conjunction with the local team to establish best in class marketing and promotional plans ensuring maximum awareness while remaining on budget. Work with label to plan, develop, and execute comprehensive digital marketing campaigns. Spearhead international online strategy including website, social media, youtube, etc. Expand and develop artists' global following across all platforms. Establish revenue targets and steps to achieving them. Manage all marketing and sales elements with the Distribution team and local offices, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Oversee the management of artists promotional tours - flights, hotel, visa's, and daily schedule on budget and within the company travel policy. Responsible for managing marketing budgets and spend. Provide regular updates to artist management and distribution teams on the artists development including sales, chart positions, radio play, online stats. etc. while informing the territories of the artist's success. Oversee physical and digital production process ensuring all deadlines and release dates are met. Work with affiliates to develop product initiatives for special packages, singles, eps, bundles etc. Communicate status of, and issues relating to, album releases to executives and all departments label wide. Consistently analyze results of marketing efforts as well as any other appropriate contextual market conditions; identify key opportunities and communicated these to the team. Effectively manage M&P budgets for assigned projects. Help direct strategies, as well as communicate information and create appropriate tools for assigned projects. Coordinate artist appearances (publicity, radio, in stores) with internal departments as well as artists and any outside vendors (travel, equipment, etc.) ensuring that both the artists' and the label's needs are met in a satisfactory manner. Oversee the creation and timely delivery of all production elements and tools required for album releases. Hire and manage independent marketing companies to facilitate distribution’s marketing/promotional efforts. Secure strategic marketing placements and opportunities with outside corporate and entertainment partners. Understand the demographics that comprise artists' fan bases and, based on the assets delivered by artists, develop product suites to increase revenue streams. Manage a high volume of internal/external meetings and email correspondence. Seek to develop bonus content/material with artists and management to use for sales and promotional uses. Develop/maintain artist's schedules and calendars to build a successful marketing campaign. WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING: Creative self-starter with ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment. 10 years of progressive marketing experience in the entertainment industry. Passionate music fan with broad knowledge of music, but a specific specialization for Urban music. Outstanding attention to organization and detail. Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and a broad knowledge of the digital landscape. Strong interpersonal skills - able to communicate with all levels of management. Previous experience managing a team and driving cross functional initiatives. Previous involvement in the music business, preferably at a distribution company with prior marketing/product management experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. Base salary $175,000 - $225,000 annually. ** Pay is based on several factors including market location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
