Job Description
This is a hybrid position that will be reporting to the office 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)
SUMMARY:
The Senior Graphic Designer will use creative skills, commercial awareness and knowledge of multimedia design tools to produce visual concepts and solutions for BankUnited's marketing and communication needs. They will lead the visual design process on projects, creating compelling designs while ensuring brand consistency across all channels, collaborating with various divisions throughout the Bank, and overseeing the design lifecycle from concept to final delivery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties and special projects may be assigned. Develops graphics and design layouts for product illustrations, company logos, websites, brochures, flyers, applications, video content, digital advertisements, pitch books, and other communications materials. Works with internal clients to discuss graphic and promotional needs. Interprets client's business needs and develops design briefs for consideration. Assists with the selection of appropriate medium and styles. Thinks creatively to produce new ideas. Uses innovation to define or redefine a design brief to meet constraints of cost, time and client. Utilizes a wide range of media, including digital photography, computer aided design and animation, to produce high-quality and original work. Uses graphs, charts, images, logos and symbols, along with other visual components, to create a cohesive message. Creates design concepts and layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts. Illustrates concepts by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style and related aesthetic concepts. Obtains approval of concepts by presenting rough layout for approval. Creativity and innovation are key attributes for this role as well as the ability to adapt to different project requirements and preferences. Researching and staying updated on the latest design trends, tools, and best practices is essential for success. Maintains technical knowledge by attending design workshops and reviewing technical publications. Multi-tasks to meet deadlines. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Communication and presentation skills are needed to work effectively with different teams and stakeholders. Maintain brand consistency and voice of the Bank throughout all projects. Adheres to and complies with applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.). Adheres to Bank policies and procedures and completes required training. Identifies and reports suspicious activity. EDUCATION
Associate's Degree in Art or Graphic Design required or Bachelor's Degree in Art or Graphic Design preferred
EXPERIENCE
4-6 Years experience in an in-house or agency environment required KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be proficient in several design/graphic illustration software and programs, such as: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe InDesign, Sketch, Figma, Canva, PowerPoint. Proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript is preferred.
