POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Communication Team Lead to oversee the development, execution, and continuous improvement of our communication strategies. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent leadership and communication skills, capable of guiding a diverse team in creating impactful content and fostering strong relationships both internally and externally. This role offers the opportunity to shape the voice of our organization and drive forward key messaging across various platforms.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategy Development & Execution: Lead the development and execution of comprehensive communication strategies that align with organizational goals, ensuring consistency in messaging and engagement across all channels (internal, external, digital, print, etc.).
Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of communication professionals, providing clear direction, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance and career growth.
Content Oversight: Oversee the creation and distribution of high-quality content across various formats, including press releases, social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and internal communications.
Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal departments to ensure alignment of messaging and collaboration on key projects. Cultivate and manage relationships with external partners, media, and stakeholders.
Crisis Communications: Develop and implement crisis communication plans. Lead the response to public relations issues, ensuring timely and appropriate messaging to safeguard the organization's reputation.
Brand Management: Ensure all communication efforts reflect and promote the organization's brand voice, values, and mission consistently across all media.
Measurement & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, utilizing data and feedback to continuously refine and optimize efforts.
Internal Communications: Manage internal communication initiatives to keep employees informed, engaged, and aligned with organizational objectives, including crafting internal newsletters, announcements, and updates.
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Secret Clearance required.
- 5+ years of experience in communications, with at least 2 years in a leadership or team management role.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
- Proven experience developing and executing communication strategies that drive results.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in digital communication tools, social media platforms, and content management systems (CMS).
- Experience with media relations, crisis communications, and brand management.
- A creative thinker with an eye for detail and the ability to think strategically.
