The Game: A vehicular RPG videogame set in an alt-history 1930s New York City.
The Role: Engaging with the community of the studio and game.
Experience: 3+ years of professional work in videogame community management.
Location: USA or Canada (Remote)
Must reside within the UTC-4 to UTC-8 timezones.
Team Size: 23
Pay Rate: $29 - $39 USD per hour Depends on skills and experience.
Job Type: Contractor (Remote) Hours will vary according to current needs.
Overview
We are looking for a creative and resourceful Community Manager to join our team, represent us to our community, and help us market our game. This position involves engaging with our prospective players, building enthusiasm for the game, and representing the studio in conversations about the game. This is a hands-on role. It demands a clear understanding of the videogame market, especially turn-based tactical games and adjacent genres.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated enthusiasm for videogames and the community surrounding them, and has managed a player community professionally. They communicate effectively in a cross-functional team environment, clearly presenting their ideas and proposals to stakeholders. They should have a passion for working within an iterative development environment, bringing a collaborative spirit and an enthusiasm for videogames.
This is a remote contractor position which requires regular collaboration online with team members across North America, including occasional scheduled meetings during the core work hours of 10:00 AM 4:30 PM Pacific. Occasional calls during late evenings, nights, and early mornings should be expected for international meetings with colleagues around the world.
The option to convert to an employee position may become available depending on job skills and performance, team dynamics, project schedule, ongoing needs of the company, pay rate, and the candidate's location. Converts must be authorized to work in the USA or Canada. H1B transfers and sponsorships are not available.

- Develop and implement a measurable community-focused strategy for promoting the game and growing the community, from pre-release, through release, and sustaining post-release.
- Engage with players where they are (platforms, channels, forums, events) as a representative of the Seismic Squirrel team and as a prominent member of our game's player community.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Director to release news, media briefs, articles, blogs, and the like to keep the community engaged and updated on what the team is working on.
- Work with the Creative Director to promote the game using its deep lore, novel mechanics, and rich visual assets.
- Manage the game's website and social media channels, including Discord, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and Steam Community pages as the public face of Seismic Squirrel.
- Understand the community's sentiment and advise on opinion trends.

- 3+ years of professional experience in videogame community management.
- A tactical promoter with a gut sense for how to communicate specific messages effectively.
- Experienced with social media, website management, and community engagement.
- Possesses a strong understanding of the global videogame market in general, and tactical RPGs specifically.
- Experienced working with Discord communities, Steam Forums, Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and other similar platforms.
