In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, and other teams in a fast-paced, agile environment to deliver clear, high-quality content tailored for developer audiences. Your responsibilities will include producing user-centric documentation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with rapid software development cycles. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members, identify opportunities to enhance content offerings, and help establish best practices for efficiency and clarity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on continuous learning, problem-solving, and contributing to an innovative, collaborative team that drives the future of fintech solutions. Duties/Responsibilities Develop and maintain API and knowledge base content that aligns with industry standards, supports rapid product development, and adheres to established style and branding guidelines. Partner closely with Software Engineering, Product Management, and other internal stakeholders to gather technical requirements and produce high-quality API documentation and programming guides. Represent the Technical Content team across the organization, fostering relationships that enhance our reputation for excellence and collaboration. Lead by example, mentoring less experienced teammates, and providing guidance on writing best practices, content strategy, and process improvements. Support Technical Content management with activities such as sprint planning, work-balancing, and team prioritization, always stepping in to assist and ensure team goals are achieved. Maintain a strong awareness of target audiences and ensure all documentation is accessible, accurate, and engaging, reflecting a deep understanding of client needs. Continuously explore and learn about Apex products to adapt documentation to evolving technical advancements and client demands. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Computer Science, or a other field (or equivalent work experience) required; advanced degree preferred 5+ years of experience as a technical writer for a developer audience at a fast-paced software company Proven experience writing detailed, user-centered API and programming documentation in a fast-paced software environment Experience with Markdown or another markup language, GitHub, Jira, and Swagger Programming experience preferred Experience designing or documenting an enterprise API solution preferred Experience with a documentation portal and/or ticketing environment such as Readme or Zendesk preferred Required Skills/Abilities Ability to grasp and communicate interrelationships between topics clearly and meaningfully and to present information in a logical hierarchy and in a consistent manner Ability to handle and prioritize multiple focus areas and tasks Enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration with people at all levels of an organization Courage to advocate for yourself and for our user's needs, backing your opinions with experience and facts A bias for action and a positive attitude with an innate and finely tuned attention to detail Knowledge of the evolving style of technical documentation and enablement resources for developer audiences Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Go, Python, Typescript) A strong writing portfolio to demonstrate your skills #product management #mid-senior #full-time #LI-JA1 #APEX Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee for this job. At AFS , we offer a hybrid work schedule for most roles that allows employees to have the flexibility of working from home and one of our primary offices. Salary Range $78,400-$98,000 The annual base salary range for this position is noted above. Exact compensation offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
