Job summary:

Content creation requires a keen eye for detail, an understanding of general design principles and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. As a Content Creator at Agency Habitat, you will be responsible for developing engaging and impactful content in various mediums, focusing on social media. This includes creating compelling captions, scripts, and visuals that resonate with our target audience and drive brand awareness and conversions. You will work closely with other members of the creative team to ensure that all content aligns with the overall brand strategy and campaign objectives.

Content Creators are responsible for planning, shooting and editing platform native content for various clients across social media platforms, in addition to connecting with our art directors, photographers, videographers, set stylists and animators to help produce content that is on brand and on strategy without creative compromise. It’s crucial for this role to stay up to date on social, cultural, competitive and industry trends and their impact on our clients and consumer behavior.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Content Execution and Ideation

  1. Create innovative, attractive and engaging social media post content including but not limited to graphics, videos, captions, UGC.
  2. Be able to lay out on-screen text showcasing typesetting and hierarchy skills.
  3. Occasionally execute on more graphic design heavy posts like static graphics, carousels, etc. utilizing Adobe Suite.
  4. Shoot and edit social content informed by the latest industry best practices and trends.
  5. Create engaging and captivating on-screen copy as well as captions that capture the tone and voice of each client.
  6. Willingness to learn keyword strategy to optimize in-video SEO.
  7. Own the execution of multiple social posts from start to finish, with the oversight/support of a creative lead.
  8. Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices to ensure our content remains relevant and impactful.
  9. Be aware of general pop-culture trends as well as trends in client specific industries.
  10. Help own the day-to-day of medium- to large-sized social accounts with the support/involvement of an Art Director or other creative.
  11. Take direction from a creative lead on where to start with post ideation and execution.
  12. Occasionally determine the direction for a post on your own, with direction approval from a creative lead.
  13. Help create shot lists for a number of posts.
  14. Make changes and edits to posts while staying within brand guidelines.
  15. Work with internal creative teams to cast and perform in short-form video content.
  16. Be present for monthly brainstorm meetings for the brand.
  17. Sit in and occasionally participate in content calendar and content presentations to client.
  18. Potentially lead the day-to-day for small social accounts depending on current client roster.
  19. Determine the direction of posts on your own, with approval from a creative lead.
  20. Create shot lists for all posts and help to make assignments to executing team members.
  21. Make changes and edits to posts while staying within brand guidelines.
  22. Work with internal creative teams to cast and perform in short-form video content.
  23. Be present for all monthly brainstorm meetings for the brand.
  24. Be present for all content calendar and content presentations to client.
  25. Participate in monthly content brainstorming and be able to bring original ideas and thoughts to the table.
  26. Come prepared to brainstorming meetings with ideas and research that you have done by yourself or with other team members.
  27. Ideate in the form of inspiration posts, trend scouting, concepts, images/videos, copy ideas or storytelling.
  28. Bring ideas to brainstorming meetings with thoughts on how to connect the idea to the visual execution.
  29. Ask questions and participate in conversations to further strengthen post ideas from the full team.
  30. Have a “yes, and” attitude to build on other team members’ ideas.
  31. Be able to use insights from reporting to make informed decisions on content.
  32. Adhere to project briefs and create designs that accomplish the goal outlined in the brief.
  33. Collaborate with the account and brand team members to align social media efforts with overall client strategies.
  34. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Branded Content Ideation and Execution

  1. Participate in planning and executing photo and video shoots to produce visually stunning content for social media.
  2. Collaborate with the Art Director to develop creative concepts, mood boards, and shot lists that align with both brand and social.
  3. Ensure that platform-specific trends and guidelines are integrated into the photo and video content to maximize engagement and usage.

Relationships

  1. Work closely with Copywriters and Art Directors throughout the life of a project.
  2. Connect at the beginning of a project to ensure that you and the team are aligned on direction.
  3. Brainstorm together and create a plan for monthly content execution.
  4. Share progress with other team members to be able to make any optimizations together to achieve the goal.
  5. Continue to check in throughout if concept or copy shifts the direction of the post.
  6. Keep Account Managers up to date on progress, deadline timing and workload.
  7. Report directly to a creative lead and/or an Associate Creative Director/Creative Director.
  8. Share regular progress on projects for feedback and direction.
  9. Consistently participate in 1:1s for growth and development.
  10. Collaborate with other creatives from the brand, studio and media teams.
  11. Occasionally participate in virtual and in-person client meetings for presentations, brainstorms, workshop sessions, etc.
  12. May occasionally be asked to evaluate other team members.
  13. Help mentor and work with interns.

Knowledge and Skill Set Requirements:

  1. A demonstrated understanding of social editing tools, like CapCut, and best practices across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, YouTube.
  2. Be familiar with in-app creator tools across social platforms.
  3. Manage workload and be able to stick to timelines.
  4. Be able to multitask.

  6. Be able to work on multiple aspects of a project at the same time.

  15. Be able to defend and present your work internally, and occasionally with clients.
  16. Effectively explain the rationale behind why the post achieves the goal outlined in the brief, and explain why specific design.
  17. Remain up to date on current best practices, trends and technology updates.
  18. Be process-focused, organized and have a strong attention to detail.
  19. Contribute to and foster an open, honest and supportive team environment where everyone feels valued and heard.
  20. Be able to interact with employees at all levels – interns, art directors, other content creators, design leads and managers.
  21. Seek help and solutions while being resourceful about finding answers on your own.
  22. Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  23. Be an everyday leader by being someone who has a service mindset, helps others bring the best out in themselves and who leads by.
  24. Experience with motion graphics and graphic design is a plus.

External relationships: Clients, vendors

Qualifications:

Portfolio demonstrating a professional approach to social media content (agency intern experience preferred); B.A. degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Advertising, Marketing or other related discipline is a plus.

Work requirements: Occasional overtime and travel required.
