Position Summary:

The Department of Art + Design at Susquehanna University is seeking a Visiting Assistant Professor of Studio Art (2D) for the 2025-26 Academic Year (Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 Semesters). Instruction will be in-person and synchronous. The successful candidate will teach a 3/3 course load, with courses that support departmental majors and minors in primarily foundational courses. While a successful candidate is welcomed to engage with university service opportunities and academic advising, it will not be required of the position. Preference will be given to those with college teaching experience. Courses will range from survey level needs including Foundations of Art I and II; to mid and upper-level course that may include Drawing and Painting. Candidates must be willing to collaborate with existing Studio Art curriculum needs, as well as instruct in both the conceptual and technical artistic development at the foundational level in a wide range of practices.

Required Qualifications:

M.F.A in a major two-dimensional studio discipline
