Responsible for the development and coordination of all graphic design, the design and layout of on floor displays and for coordinating with printers, and advertising vendors to ensure that internal and external advertising is placed to meet scheduling deadlines. Performs all functions in accordance with applicable laws and gaming regulations, the mission and objectives of the Sugar Creek Casino and the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes, as well as established policies, procedures and controls.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:

The following is a list of the main duties/responsibilities. However, other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by reporting senior.

  • Creates graphic designs for advertising media and in-house promotions.
  • Assists in the development of annual departmental operating budget.
  • Ensures a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction is achieved.
  • Attends Marketing meetings as a source of knowledge concerning the participation of Player’s Club Employees in upcoming promotions.
  • Maintains an adequate stock of supplies for use in Graphic Design, as well as other related printed material, such as brochures, for the casino.
  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental, and casino policies.
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with all Federal and Tribal Regulatory Commissions and other agencies as may be applicable to ensure the casino operations are in compliance with regulations.
  • Assists in developing and implementing special property events for player development purposes.
  • Maintains graphic programs for exterior and interior electric signage.
  • Assists Marketing Department with promotions and fills in when necessary.
  • Assist Marketing Department in the input of promotional events in the Player’s Club and back office systems.
  • Assists the Slot Department in floor design.
  • Assist in maintaining the back office promotional system.
  • Adheres to all safety guidelines including the use of protective equipment.
  • Ensures all equipment is used and maintained in accordance with proper procedures.
  • Communicates problems, challenges or unusual matters of significance to supervisor.
  • Informs supervision of needed support, supplies or repairs.
  • Learns proper operating procedures of electronic devices used in job functions and ensures these procedures are used to prevent damage to devices.
  • Perform all other duties to be assigned.

WORKS WITH MARKETING DEPARTMENT STAFF TO INCLUDE:

  • Assist with special events to include working with celebrities as needed.
  • In absence of Casino Host/Hostess assists Slots Department with Jackpots, by providing photographic services and issuing complimentary amenities to customers as Jackpots are awarded.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong organizational and communication skills required. Previous knowledge of promotional equipment preferred. Must have an understanding of gaming operations and how the different departments function together to create the total operation. Works cooperatively and fosters teamwork by helping co-workers with essential functions.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to obtain a gaming license.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of layout and design experience. Professional Graphic Portfolio required.
  • Must possess or have the ability to acquire a working command of widely used Adobe Creative suites as well as word-processing, spreadsheet, database, and internet software programs, including Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Programs. Marketing and gaming experience preferred.
  • One to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be outgoing person with exceptional people skills and experience in conducting events and public speaking.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government laws and regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a group of managers, clients, customers, media, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Basic analytical and deductive reasoning ability. Must be competent in computer skills. Must have superior interpersonal relations skills. Must have superior planning and organizational skills, ability to manage complex projects and investigations.
