Position: Audio Engineer - Full Time/Exempt
Reports to: Audio Manager
Summary: The Audio Engineer will coordinate, plan, schedule, and manage various audio and video elements for Insignia events. Current Insignia events include Arizona Cardinals home games, Fiesta Bowl, other sporting events, and a wide variety of world class live events, programs and guest experiences. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the operational nuances associated with live sports and event production and a deep knowledge of A/V equipment.
Primary Job Duties:
- Ability to operate and design various audio equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance checks of stadium audio systems
- Understand fiber optic cabling, connector types, and signal flow on a large scale
- Ability to mix audio with a multitude of source types and destination types
- Assist with production meetings with specific goals and interface with high-end clientele
- Monitor inventory, determine equipment needs and assist with equipment orders as necessary
- Assist with researching new technologies and equipment, recommend equipment purchases for upgrades to the audio systems and inventory
- Assist with the operation of stadium audio systems during football games and other events
- Schedule repairs and perform routine maintenance of audio equipment; when advanced repairs are needed, schedule repair work and manage shipment and return of items in need of repair
- Manage shipping and receiving of rental equipment, equipment repair and returns
- Communicate with event coordinators and clients during all phases of production to ensure client needs are met in a timely fashion
- Attend pre-production and post event meetings with event coordinators and clients
- Supply events costs to event coordinators for preparation of final billing
- Coordinate with SMG, Event Coordinators, Security, Engineering department and vendors as needed during project management
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of Audio related work experience
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a large-volume, venue facility
- Excellent leadership, people management, problem solving and communication skills
- Must be creative, innovative, passionate, results-oriented with big ideas and a commitment to excellence.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, L'Acoustics SoundVision and Network Manager, QSC Qsys Designer, Riedel Artist and Director, AutoCAD, Dante Networked Audio and Virtual Sound Card, Tsheets, Yamaha TF1 and LS9, Digico SD Series, Riedel Intercom system, Clear-Com, proficient understanding of Madi and Opticore
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and troubleshoot in a high stress, fast-paced, live production work environment
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience in related field
- Flexibility with work varying schedules including evenings, holidays, and weekends
