The New School is looking for an enthusiastic, responsible, creative individual to join our Admission Communications team as a graduate student Content Creator. This position is mostly remote, with required on-campus content creation and mandatory monthly staff meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The graduate student Content Creator will be responsible for:

  • Creating and reviewing content—including text, graphics, video, and photos—across communications platforms. This currently includes Instagram, ZeeMee, and CampusESP.
  • Developing strategies for all social platforms.
  • Keeping up to date with industry news and feature rollouts.
  • Regularly sharing content with student Content Managers and Welcome Center Managers in order to contribute to a comprehensive content program.
  • Other content creation and review duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will:

  • Meet all content deadlines, attend all content meetings, and communicate with student Content Managers regularly.
  • Be comfortable in front of the camera.
  • Create dynamic, authentic, approachable content for our communications platforms that provides an honest view and personal insight into the work we do and student life.
  • Enjoy collaborating with professional staff and other student team members.
  • Research best practices in content and communications per platform.
  • Manage their own time.
  • Be a positive, dependable, professional resource for our team.
  • Commit to working 8 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program at The New School. Additional qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for social network sites, social media tools, and associated apps and technology.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and aesthetics.
  • Sound judgment.
  • Highly organized—enjoys organization.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Enjoys assisting others and providing support.
  • Able to focus without being distracted by cell phones, personal social media, and competing responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with Instagram, ZeeMee, and CampusESP.
  • Familiarity with Google and Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Familiarity with video and photo editing software including Premiere Pro, Canva, Illustrator, and Photoshop.

Pay rate: $17 per hour.
