We are seeking a talented Creative Director on a temporary engagement to lead the implementation of comprehensive brand strategies for four online public schools. This role will allow you to bring your hands-on creative expertise and project management skills to the forefront. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, you will collaborate with internal and cross-functional teams to execute various branding initiatives. This is a 6-month engagement, fully remote.

You will play a critical role in translating each school’s unique identity into cohesive and impactful brand experiences while ensuring alignment with the overarching K12 brand and vision. You will be pivotal in bringing the school’s new brand visions to life across digital, print, and multimedia platforms, ensuring a consistent and impactful presence for each school. Your ability to balance creativity and project oversight will empower families to connect with our schools and clearly see their unique value.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic creative direction to ensure messaging and visual elements resonate with target audiences while maintaining coherence between the school brands and K12’s brand identity.
  2. Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets to deliver high-quality results on time while maintaining a balance between school-specific needs and the K12 brand vision.
  3. Implement a cohesive brand experience for each school that highlights their unique identities while ensuring alignment with the overarching K12 brand.
  4. Integrate new logos, color palettes, style guides, and mascots into communications that reflect both the individual school’s character and their connection to the K12 network.
  5. Oversee the redesign of each school’s website. Ensure the design and copy cater to the regional needs of each school while integrating seamlessly with K12’s broader web presence and branding goals.
  6. Plan and execute photo and video shoots to capture content that authentically represents each school’s unique story.
  7. Produce social proof materials, such as testimonials and success stories, that highlight each school’s unique attributes.
  8. Update templated assets in Canva, such as social media graphics, print collateral, PowerPoint slides, video elements, and webinar materials.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure creative initiatives effectively bridge the identities of individual schools and K12’s network-wide branding strategy.
  10. Act as a brand steward, ensuring that all creative outputs enhance both the distinctiveness of each school and their alignment with K12’s overarching identity.
  11. This position will manage 2 creatives.

Qualifications:

  1. 10+ years of experience in creative direction, branding, or related fields.
  2. Proven experience managing large-scale creative projects with multi-location branding requirements.
  3. Strong hands-on skills in graphic design, copywriting, or multimedia content creation.
  4. Exceptional project management and organizational abilities.
  5. Ability to manage and juggle priorities daily and work independently.
  6. Highly organized, detail-oriented, meets deadlines consistently.
  7. Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other design tools.
  8. Strong strategic thinking, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  9. Excellent presentation skills with the ability to leverage technology effectively.
  10. Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  11. Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment.
  12. Strong project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  13. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  14. Experience setting and delivering against measurable marketing metrics.
  15. High level of quality and accountability for work product.
  16. Ability to travel up to 20% of the time (minimal e.g. school meetings/video shoots).

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $60.00 – $70.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
