Job Overview:
As Creative & Production Design Manager, you’ll support revenue generation through creative oversight of sales materials and vendors’ advertising assets in a broad range of media types. You’ll serve as a creative liaison, leading a multi-functional team of creatives to support our sales goals and maintain standards and technical requirements for vendor-paid creative assets, ensuring a positive vendor and customer experience. You are comfortable working independently and with stakeholders at all levels. You’re an engaged listener, providing constructive and positive feedback that converts challenges into elegant solutions quickly. You approach creative work systematically because you know that's required when creating a coherent experience, but you also know when the system needs to expand to remain agile.
Essential Functions:
- Manage a team of direct reports (production designers, copywriters, brand experience designers) who support all creative needs ranging from ad product evolution and efficient creative asset review/delivery to sales material design/creation.
- Maintain the creative style guides to ensure alignment with the overall brand identity requirements for media types including, but not limited to:
- On-site display advertising – Banners, Rich Media, Video
- Off-site advertising – Social, Programmatic Display/Video
- Connected TV
- Billing statement inserts (working closely with Credit team)
- Package inserts (working closely with Media team)
- HSQ Jumbotron and in-store screens
- Email banners
- Campaign landing pages
- Support production of campaign landing pages
- Oversee and refine process for review of vendor paid creative assets.
- Test and refine process within project management tools (Microsoft Planner, Wrike).
- Establish & maintain cross-functional creative/production design workflows such as but not limited to:
- creative review workflows between production design, copy and account management teams
- creative project workflows between leadership/sales and creative teams
- Communicate creative requirements and technical specs to advertisers, and consult to provide clarity and guidance when needed.
- Manage and monitor the SharePoint for intuitive and efficient vendor access to creative asset specs and templates.
- Seek to understand advertisers’ campaign objectives and respective brand identities, to find win-win solutions between advertisers’ and our brand requirements in vendor-paid creative.
- Work cross-functionally with media & production manager to establish a pricing structure and process for creative services projects and consult with sales team to implement pricing level and timeline for new creative services requests.
- Operate autonomously with minimal day-to-day oversight.
Experience Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in creative management within an advertising communications environment.
- Strong command of all media types.
- Clear understanding of digital user experience and accessibility.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and improvisational skills.
- Exceptional organizational, planning and prioritization skills; able to manage a large workload with fast turnaround.
- Proactive, team player who works well independently.
- Strong attention to detail and follow through.
- Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, Photoshop, InDesign, & Microsoft Office.
