Overview

The Industrial Radiographer/Film Interpreter is responsible for performing interpretation of radiographs to evaluate weld quality, including evaluation of both pipe and structural weldments in accordance with applicable standards and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Primary duties include reviewing film in accordance with specification applicable for part and class; reviewing radiographic technique forms for completeness and accuracy; documentation and maintenance of records pertaining to any deficiencies and dispositions; provide customer audit support.
  2. Will contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques and standards; develop solutions to complex problems; ensure solutions are consistent with organizational objectives; exercise considerable independent judgment and discretion in determining long-term goals, objectives and approaches to assignments.
  3. Will serve as a consultant to management and external contacts; represent the organization on major matters pertaining to policies, plans and objectives; and be responsible for teaching/mentoring new analysts.

This position is located at the Quonset Point facility in North Kingstown, RI. This is a second shift position - training will be done on first shift.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. High School Diploma or GED.
  2. 4+ years of relevant experience.
  3. A minimum of 2+ years of radiography experience, including a minimum of 1 year as a certified Level I radiographer.
  4. Must be able to obtain EB Level IIRT certification within one (1) year.
  5. Must be able to work overtime when required (including weekends and holidays).
  6. Must be able to work other shifts as business needs.

Preferred:

  1. Previous radiography film interpretation experience.
  2. Experience shooting and viewing castings.
  3. Previous radiography shooting qualifications/experience.
  4. The ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  5. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
