Want to join our team as a Temporary Graphic Designer - Production?

The Temporary Graphic Designer - Production for Bauer Hockey’s Team Division will support the customization of our Team products from artwork submission to product embellishment and production, as well as creative support. This position requires a full range of knowledge of the graphic design process from embellishment expertise, online customization, artwork manipulation, idea generation, sales materials and online visuals which creatively and consistently reflect Bauer Hockey’s brand identity. This position will be a 6 month contract.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Helps maintain BAUER’s Online Team Customizer platform.
  • Collaborating with representatives and vendors to set up logos for specific custom products (ensuring artwork accuracy in size, detail, and color).
  • Uploading and archiving approved files for artwork submissions.
  • Reviewing and approving factory production strike-offs (communicating with vendors and managing sample approvals).
  • Work with printers and factories to troubleshoot production issues.
  • Support design implementation and production for various collateral, new product launches, and high-visibility campaigns.
  • Ensure designs and logos comply with company standards.
  • Maintain Bauer brand standards across multiple mediums, including colors, fonts, and imagery.
  • Manage a large database of images, including tasks like color correction, retouching, and resizing.
  • Create thoughtful designs under tight deadlines while adhering to brand guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • BS or BA in Design, or related field - or equivalent years of relevant and related experience.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of graphic design experience in working within a design firm or other creative team environment.
  • 5 years of sport or team design experience.
  • Knowledge of product development process from inception through to production, including but not limited to construction, manufacturing, embellishments, materials, and color accuracy.
  • A portfolio demonstrating a breadth of exceptional, original, and stylistic design that conveys strong conceptual thinking, sensitivity for typographic and graphic design, and an unwavering attention to detail.
  • Experience, energy, talent, commitment, creative edge and a passion for the brand with proven experience working within the specifications of a brand style-guide.
  • Must be flexible and able to focus on a wide range of projects simultaneously. Self-motivated problem-solver capable of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • A team player with collaborative skills, open to creative direction while possessing a strong personal point of view. Strong presentation, listening and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of working with and managing outside vendors.
  • Working knowledge of proofing, plating, setup, screen printing methods and procedures (i.e., color separations).
  • Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, MS Word and PowerPoint, Content Management Systems (CMS) plus basic knowledge of HTML for XML editing. Experience with color correction and image database management is required.
