Pay: $20.00 per hour
Merrill Memorial Library (215 Main Street, Yarmouth) is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Publicity and Adult Programming Librarian. This person performs a variety of routine and complex duties, including but not limited to:
- General Duties: Checking materials in-and-out of the Library, issuing library cards, assisting patrons with general and reference questions, assisting patrons with a variety of technology, opening and closing the building, answering phones and emails, shelving returned items and general collection maintenance.
- Adult Program Duties: Plan, prepare and co-host monthly book group discussion with one other MML Staff Member.
- Publicity Duties: Prepare advertising and promotional materials for all Library programs, seasonal hours, weather cancellations and delays, holiday hours, policy changes and event details.
The successful candidate must have experience working in a busy Library environment and be able to maintain a professional demeanor while multitasking.
A Bachelor’s degree in library science, liberal arts, public administration or a closely related field is required.
The schedule for this position is Wednesday and Thursday (9a-3p), Friday (9a-5p), including one Saturday (9a-3p) in rotation with all other MML Staff.
