The Government and Finance Division, Research and Library Services (RL) Section of the Congressional Research Service is offering a detail to qualified individuals to serve as a Section Head. The primary responsibility of the Acting Section Head is to lead, plan, organize, and coordinate the information research of the Research and Library Services Section. This includes carrying out all responsibilities associated with research planning, section review, facilitating personnel matters in the section in coordination with division management; working with other members of the division management team; and completing other assignments as directed by the Assistant/Deputy Assistant Director.
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities Expected:
- Ability to lead and manage staff
- Ability to apply knowledge of information resources in public policy
- Ability to apply knowledge of information research within public policy research frameworks
- Ability to lead and inspire change
- Ability to interact collaboratively with others
- Ability to communicate in writing
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion
- Ability to communicate orally
