Senior Technical Writer
Solvere Technical Group is seeking a Senior Technical Writer to provide research and support services, and review specifications, documentation, and document changes. The candidate will meet with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure topics are properly addressed and adjudicated during all phases of specification development, including copy and edit feedback from industry and team members.
The Senior Technical Writer will prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents relating to shipboard and marine use, including CDRL, specification, and SOW development and management. Additionally, the candidate will analyze, interpret, and cross-check information to ensure accuracy. The role involves developing, publishing, amending, and maintaining technical publications used to support the Coast Guard.
Skills and Abilities:
- Possess expert knowledge of industry standard desktop publishing and word processing software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat).
- Ability to independently prepare, review, revise, and maintain publication-ready technical documents.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ documented experience in writing and reviewing technical documents.
- Documented experience with the marine or defense environment preferred.
Required Education:
BS or MS in Technical, Engineering, or Marine Degree from an ABET accredited institution, related to the field of work.
Security Requirements:
- Must hold a Secret Clearance or higher.
- Must pass a background check.
Place of Performance:
- Will work "Onsite" 2-3 days per week in Washington, DC, and remaining days remotely.
- Washington, DC: Reliably commute to or planning to relocate before starting work (Required).
