Amazon Business stands at the intersection of tech & retail in the B2B space developing innovative purchasing and procurement solutions to help businesses and organizations thrive. The Amazon Business User Experience team champions the business customer in the Amazon Marketplace and supports procurement elements for Amazon Business customers. Areas that a UX Designer will support include partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver costumer-centric solutions for admins involved in business procurement for all sizes of businesses. You will work with the foundational services team to enhance the account management tools in the account setup and configuration space.

A UX Designer in this organization works on the tactical and strategic. They determine the strategy and where to simplify or extend solutions for the best outcome. They will drive the use of best practices and learn to influence. This role needs to be capable of operating autonomously in partnering with product stakeholders from the enterprise account management team to research, define requirements and realize solutions for complex problems across the end-to-end account admins experience.

Key job responsibilities

The UX Designer's role is to facilitate and define product requirements, and technical feasibility. They will be expected to pull insights, guide product stakeholders into design exercises and activities to shape and prioritize user stories ahead of designing solutions. This role must be able to recognize risks and effectively communicate and escalate issues that may impact the customer experience, then help to arrive at solutions that are acceptable to cross-functional stakeholders - be it peers or skip-level. This role is a key contributor to generating design documents that succinctly communicate recommendations, limitations, trade-offs and product direction. This role will be instrumental in helping to inform and shape product roadmaps, business goals, objectives and metrics that all add customer value.

A day in the life

The UX Designer is a vocal advocate for the customer. This role operates as an ambassador for best practices, and will be a highly visible team player through their ability to pull stakeholders together to collaborate. As a UX designer, this role will be lead design, conduct retros & research that can influence engineering team decisions to enable optimal solutions for our customers.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of design experience

Experience prototyping (HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Flash or Flash Catalyst, or Axure)

Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices

Knowledge of and proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, and InDesign

Preferred Qualifications

Capacity to own and drive the design process and independently define requirements, scope projects and prioritize tasks

Experience working on a collaborative team and directly with developers for design implementation

Experience conducting informal user research methods to validate designs with users

A clean sense of design aesthetics, and a natural propensity towards simplification over complication

Familiarity with the technical considerations needed when designing

Experience designing customer facing products

Retail/e-commerce experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $106,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $184,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
