Job Summary
The
Video Producer
will play a key role in capturing and producing engaging video content to support the fundraising efforts at UCSF. A key member of the Advancement Communications team, this position will help highlight compelling stories of impact-focusing on donors, students, faculty, and alumni-while promoting giving campaigns, donor events, and university initiatives. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop video production skills while contributing to the university's mission of advancing healthcare education, research, and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Video Production: Assist in planning, filming, and editing videos that tell inspiring stories of research projects, education, and the UCSF's healthcare impact. Pre-Production Coordination: Collaborate with the fundraising team to brainstorm concepts, develop storyboards, and prepare for video shoots. On-Site Filming: Capture footage of events, interviews, and campus activities, including donor stories, fundraising events, and alumni celebrations. Post-Production Editing: Edit video footage using industry-standard software, adding graphics, transitions, captions, and music to create polished final products. Social Media Content Creation: Format videos for social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) to promote giving and engage donors. Asset Management: Edit, organize, and archive video files, ensuring easy access for future use. The ideal candidate should have a strong and sophisticated video portfolio, and 2-5 years of agency or in-house experience. Please share your portfolio URL within your job application.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. Department Description
The UCSF Foundation and the Office of University Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR) are responsible for fostering and strengthening the campus outreach efforts to UCSF constituents and for garnering private support for the campus; for formal acceptance and administration of all private gifts to the university through The Regents or the UCSF Foundation; and for managing all alumni relations activities, campus support group activities and campus events. The office is also responsible for the design and implementation of fundraising campaigns for UCSF. In raising private support, UDAR identifies, qualifies, solicits and stewards donors for the schools, medical centers, departments and programs on campus. The UDAR office staffs the UCSF Foundation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. 3+ years related work experience. Knowledge and understanding of technical applications to effectively direct technical staff, or personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applications. Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and / or broad general audiences. Knowledge of location protocols and channels for communication internally and externally. Solid written, verbal, interpersonal communications, active listening and political acumen skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of video production, including cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, rigs, etc. Knowledge of all aspects of communications, including strategic planning for various media venues, technical aspects and requirements of various venues, and most appropriate and effective applications. Knowledge of the organization, its achievements, mission, vision, goals, policies, practices, infrastructure, and a strong knowledge of current affairs, and issues in higher education and/or health sciences. Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and short term strategic communications plans.
