Job Description Your Role at Raising Cane’s:
The Sr. Design Manager is responsible for providing strategic leadership in developing, maintaining, and managing Global Architectural Design Standards and prototype documentation for Raising Cane’s restaurants. This role will manage and maintain relationships with our consultants and vendors. The Sr. Design Manager is tasked with developing multiple areas of expert knowledge in applying architecture, engineering, and interior design guidelines and protocols. This role is part of a team of internal and external design professionals who manage the complete restaurant design process through all phases.
Your Impact and Responsibilities:
Receives approved conceptual design and make it "Rollout Ready" by standardizing design details, FF&E, and by releasing effective tools for implementation
Leads change management of the design standards and strategizes the management of the release of quarterly updates to guidelines, scope of work documents, templates, drawings, specifications, and cut sheets
Reports on progress and uses analytics, lessons learned, and best practices from prior projects to continually improve design standards
Organizes project teams, resources, and workflows for the collective design team
Sets priorities for the team to achieve goals and encourages teamwork and results
Drives complex cross-functional projects to full completion on schedule with attention to standardization, scale, and efficiency
Demonstrates support for changes necessary to improve costs, effectiveness, initiate, and implement change
Initiates, guides, and delivers approved conceptual design in a complete state
Provides change management leadership to continually improve in areas of cost, efficiency, and effectiveness
Reports on progress and applies analytics from prior projects for process improvement
Executes and leads the adaptation of base design drawings for prototypical buildings and regional adaptations
Leads review, issue identification, and correction for full contract document packages
Develops and implements certification and training program for external consultants
Identifies, evaluates, and onboards prototype master architect to lead efforts to develop and maintain base designs and regional adaptations
Qualifications Requirements for Success:
8+ years of experience in architecture, design, architectural standards, or project management
5+ years of experience managing and working with construction plans and specifications for retail/restaurant projects
5+ years of experience managing and working with architectural/site plan design, including cost and quality control, material/equipment installation, bidding practices, material, and labor costs
Experience in restaurant or multi-unit retail industry
Experience in both the owner and consultant’s side
Proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, SketchUp and Photoshop a plus
Microsoft Proficient: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Word
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities that may be constantly changing
Results-oriented and flexible with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work effectively and efficiently both independently and collaboratively
Able to work full-time at the Restaurant Support Office in Plano, TX and travel up to 20%
Professional licensure: member of USGBC, LEED Accredited Professional a plus
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering, construction management or related field
