CAD Designer needed for a water filtration company in Irvine CA.

Direct Hire opportunity. Full-time & 100% onsite. Paying $70K/yr, plus annual bonus based on profit. Hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Excellent company that has been in business for 50 years.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The CAD Designer has a direct interface with the company's management team. The position is responsible for:
  • Developing technical drawings using CAD software with a preference for Inventor or SolidWorks including 3-D models of tanks, piping, pumps and ancillary equipment; process flow diagrams, and control panel layout drawings.
  • Preparing project-specific drawings for sales, design, production, submittals, and as-builts.
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of equipment submittal documentation.
  • Collaborate with the project management team and others in obtaining approval from the client and/or their engineer.
  • Maintain and augment the standardized drawing catalog on the CAD computer with back-ups on main server.
  • Develop, update, and maintain standard production drawing catalog for assemblies.
  • Collaborate within the engineering and production department to maintain and to develop standardized information within the company's inventory control system.
  • The CAD Designer will implement all quality control and cross-checking procedures to ensure the accuracy and completeness of drawings, bills of materials, submittals, and as-built documentation, and other processes within the regular activity of the position.
  • The CAD Designer is responsible for delivering and monitoring customer service levels within the context of the position and the interaction with vendors and clients.
  • Produces drawings with AutoCad in 2D and 3D or SolidWorks including productive familiarity with working in model space.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for high-quality execution of projects.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties and vendors within the scope of drawing and design development and exchange.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation within the company's standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure the integrity of the bill of materials and drawings with the as-built, final product/installation.
  • Prepare schedules and presentations for management.
  • Researches vendors and collects prices, specifications, and other data related to goods and services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for success in this position.
  • Proficient with AutoCad, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software and Microsoft Office package.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills-must be able to communicate clearly.
  • Firm grasp of mathematics, engineering, and industry information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and managing multiple project priorities.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to collaborate with others to solve problems and design questions.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree, OR technical training in combination with work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in CAD work in an environment with mechanical, process, and or electrical diagrams, preferably in manufacturing.

Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $70,000.00 - $70,000.00 Per Year
