The responsibilities of Ponte Firm’s Managing Director include overseeing the strategic direction and overall success of the organization by driving the firm’s day-to-day operations, scalability, and profitability. Acting as the right-hand woman or man to the CEO, the Managing Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring the firm’s vision is executed effectively.
This role reports into the CEO and requires 4 days in-person / 1 day remote (Fridays) weekly.
Sales Growth & Management
The Managing Director is primarily responsible for company-wide sales growth, including overseeing the sales pipeline, team performance, and the end-to-end talent sales funnel.
- Develop and execute client (brand and talent) acquisition strategies – leveraging his or her own network when possible – while ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with account teams to ensure talent selection, outreach, and closing operations are consistent, scalable, and effective.
- Strengthen and maintain relationships with key clients (brand partners and talent), positioning the firm as a trusted partner.
- Represent the firm during negotiations, pitches, and presentations as needed.
- Oversee talent representation during contract negotiations and manage the contract process to ensure favorable outcomes (when applicable).
- Create, update, and refine business and client pitching materials to reflect the firm’s evolving strategies.
- Optimize daily operations for efficiency and effectiveness across all sales and lead generation pipelines for brand partners and talent.
- Establish and refine policies and processes to streamline firm functions and promote growth.
- Establish sales commission structures and quarterly goal frameworks for the team (if applicable).
Team Management
The Managing Director is responsible for building, leading, and empowering a high-performing team.
- Train and mentor employees, management, and department heads, ensuring consistent development across the organization.
- Foster a collaborative, positive, client-centric, respectful and high-performance culture.
- Oversee recruiting and hiring processes to align the team with the firm’s strategic goals (when applicable).
Strategic Leadership
- Define and drive the firm’s long-term growth strategies.
- Set the firm’s strategic goals and ensure alignment with industry trends and client needs.
- Develop and implement strategies to expand the firm’s portfolio and market presence.
- Support the firm’s fundraising, M&A and/or finance operations (when applicable)
Brand and Reputation Management
- Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and in the media as requested by the CEO.
- Uphold and enhance the firm’s standing and credibility within the industry.
- Drive innovation to ensure the firm remains competitive and relevant in its offerings.
Financial Oversight
- Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, profitability, and forecasting (when applicable).
- Ensure financial goals are met while maintaining effective resource management.
