Music Instructor - Private Lessons - Wilton Conservatory of Music
Wilton Conservatory of Music offers private music lessons after school at Cider Mill School in Wilton, CT. We currently have openings for a brass instructor and a cello instructor (beginner to advanced). To start as soon as possible.

Reports to: Coordinator, Wilton Conservatory of Music
Terms of Employment: Hourly, part-time position, 2:30-7:00 (approx), hours and day(s) to be determined based on demand and instructor availability. Certification is not required. This is NOT a classroom teaching position within the Wilton Public Schools, even though if hired, you are working within Wilton Public Schools and will complete the same application process.

Requirements & Responsibilities:
- A degree (or pursuing a degree) in Music and/or high musical competence and proficiency in a musical instrument, multiple instruments a plus.
- Performance experience is a plus.
- Comfortable teaching various styles and genres.
- Minimum 3 years experience teaching private music lessons to elementary-aged students through adults.
- Experience teaching music fundamentals (note reading, sight reading, scales, technique, theory, etc.)
- Prepare students for examinations, auditions, and live performances as needed.
- Prepare students for informal mid- or end-of-year recitals.
- Effectively communicate with parents.
- Responsible, conscientious, and punctual.
- Technologically savvy and can teach virtually if the need arises.
- Passionate, fun & energetic.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

- Compensation for late cancel or no-show lessons.
- No weekend lessons
- Administrative Support - scheduling, registration, payment, marketing, organization of recitals, and other administrative support.
- All lessons are in one place - little to no downtime between lessons.

- Back to Work Protocol Training (new) - online
- Anti-Bullying Safe School Climate (yearly) - online
- DCF Mandated Reporter (every 3 years) - online (State of CT)
- Darkness to Light (every 3 years) - online
- Sexual Harassment Training (every 10 years - or yearly depending on the program being used by the school)
- Title IX Training - (every year)
- Child Trafficking and Identification Prevention Training - (every 3 years)
