Established in 1977, we have locations all over Northern California including Sacramento, Grass Valley, Roseville, Stockton, Modesto, Merced, Fairfield, Elk Grove, Folsom, Yuba City and Chico. Our physicians are nationally known, and we continue to be on the leading edge of retina care by utilizing the latest equipment and both participating in and designing new clinical trials to advance the state of care for retinal diseases. We seek a full-time Ophthalmic Photographer to support our team. Although you must be able to work independently, you will be working directly with physicians, patients, and clinical and business office staff. Collaboration and being a team player are essential to the success of this role. This position will require travel to other locations as needed, and weekly travel to Grass Valley. Mileage is reimbursed and extra time to travel is paid.

We seek a full-time Ophthalmic Photographer to support our team. Responsibilities (not limited to):
- Greets patient by first and last name, verifies patients DOB.
- Review physician orders and takes appropriate photos.
- Ensure patient has no allergies to fluorescein or ICG dye prior to procedure.
- Understand diagnosis and what photos to take accordingly.
- Ability to interpret OCT, Fa/ Photo images and document in EHR.
- Ability to take all photos ordered by physician. Including, color photos, iris photo/FA and montage photos as needed.
- Remind patients what is being done (talk them through it) and ask patients if they have questions before proceeding with fluorescein injections and taking photos.
- Ensure that all patient consent forms for fluorescein are up to date (must be no older than 12 months).
- Answer patient questions.
- Use hand sanitizer or wash hands while patient is watching.
- Keep work areas clean and "sterile" (i.e. no fluorescein stains on counter, no uncapped needles, etc.)
- Ability to maintain a HIPAA and OSHA compliant workstation
- Understand emergency protocols
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Apply policies and principles to solve everyday problems

- Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously

- Knowledge of insurances; HMO's, PPO's, Medicare, Medi-Cal
- Knowledge of how to operate standard office equipment
- Able to dilate, check vision, and enter appropriate chief complaint
- Understand what diagnoses are considered emergencies
- Ability to follow direction well, maintain professionalism and be punctual
- Ability to obtain readable OCT image from all OCT equipment
- Ability to accurately and completely document patient visit in EHR
- Enjoy working with patients, primarily elderly patients
- Patience and empathy
- Ability to work as a part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure in a high paced environment
- Ability to answer phones, schedule patients accurately, work tasks, work faxes (basic Front Desk duties)
- Strong knowledge of consent form requirements.
- Ability to monitor clinic flow and effectively redirect staff to maintain a smooth patient flow
- Photography: Photograph the ocular fundus; correctly differentiate right and left fundus photos and angiography.
- Ability to know how to take images that best document the disease and its location.
- Knowledge of retinal disease and its symptoms and treatments.
- Ability to obtain quality images using all cameras.
- Know the function and purpose of each piece of equipment
- Sitting and viewing computer screen for extended periods
- Keyboarding for extended periods
- Standing or walking, up to 75% of the time
- Lifting, reaching, and bending, often
- Close visual acuity required to perform duties such as viewing computer monitor, and determining accuracy and thoroughness of work
