Description

The Technical Writer is responsible for researching, developing, and creating manuals, technical instructions, bulletins, support documents, and other technical publications for all vertical reciprocating conveyors (VRCs), Cartveyor® cart conveyors, and other custom material lifting equipment manufactured by PFlow Industries. All documentation must adhere to company policies, customer requirements, industry standards, and State and Federal regulations.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

Research & Content Development: 1. Collects, researches, and analyzes technical data from engineers, project managers, and technical support staff to ensure accuracy in manuals and technical publications 2. Ensures documentation aligns with customer requirements, industry standards, State and Federal regulations, and PFlow branding guidelines

Technical Writing & Documentation: 1. Develops and maintains installation and user manuals, troubleshooting guides, maintenance guides, and technical bulletins, and other technical documentation as required, such as assisting with writing work instructions for manufacturing processes 2. Translates complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly instructions for customers, installers, and field technicians 3. Writes and formats concise, structured, and easy-to-understand documentation suitable for audiences of varying technical expertise 4. Maintains document control, version tracking, and standardization across all publications, and is responsible for uploading and managing this content in ERP system (M2K) and in MechWorks. 5. Writes Electronic Change Notices (ECNs) to document updates or new literature releases and communicates updates via email or other means as required

Visual & Digital Content Creation: 1. Creates original illustrations for documentation, sourcing from both in-house and external resources 2. Develops and maintains master versions of manuals for use on company websites, and communicates all updates to Marketing Manager 3. Collaborates with internal stakeholders to assist with the creation of technical video assets

Collaboration & Content Review: 1. Works with internal stakeholders including, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Project Management, and Customer Support teams to ensure technical accuracy in product descriptions, training materials, and support content 2. Collaborates with Marketing Manager to maintain consistent brand standards, styles, and templates across all documentation 3. Engages with Design and Project Engineers, Project Managers, Technical Support Staff, and Sales & Marketing to define project needs and documentation scope

Other Responsibilities: 1. Supports continuous improvement by updating and refining existing documentation and Work Instructions based on product changes and user feedback 2. Maintains a clean, safe, and positive work environment 3. Demonstrates a commitment to PFlow Values

Education & Experience: 1. Associate Degree in Technical Communication, Technical Writing, Engineering, or a related discipline 2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a Technical Publications role, preferably in heavy equipment, machine manufacturing, or material handling industries

Technical Skills: 1. Ability to interpret and translate complex technical information-including engineering drawings, CAD files, mechanical drawings, electrical blueprints, technical specifications, and processes-into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation tailored for each specific audience 2. Proficiency in SolidWorks Composer, MechWorks, Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop - Knowledge of Premier Pro or Premier Rush is a plus) 3. Experience with creating digital/web-based documentation is a plus
