Senior Associate, Instructional Designer

As a member of the Learning Consulting & Design team for Tech College, the Instructional Designer will be responsible for partnering closely with Principal Learning Consultants to design learning experiences that ensure new skills are successfully transferred to on-the-job performance. An individual in this role will build self-paced e-learnings, practice-based ILTs, and other creative modalities for learning transfer, with a focus (though not exclusively) on digital-first learning methods. This role will also focus on collaborating with other Instructional Designers within both Tech College and the broader group of Colleges within the Job Family Learning team, in order to streamline processes, share best practices, and stay up to date on emerging evidence-based learning & tech trends. Key Responsibilities: Partner with Principal Learning Consultants to own the design for specific programs and stand-alone offerings that support the learning & performance needs of associates in Capital One’s Tech organization. Complement the needs analysis process by identifying the additional context that will help to ensure successful transfer of skills to the job. Increase the effectiveness of learning solutions by identifying and recommending format/modalities that create an optimal learning experience and demonstrate an understanding of adult learning principles. Design and develop curriculum, programs, learning materials, and performance support tools (including self-study, classroom, e-Learning, etc.) based on industry design standards for a given modality (includes traditional, web, and mobile design). Demonstrate an aptitude for, knowledge of, and agility with new learning technologies. Represent the Tech College Learning Consulting & Design team in broader project efforts, ensuring that the end-to-end of the learning experience is considered alongside project timeline goals. Engage with project team members to enable clarity of goal; conduct on-going reviews to ensure outcome is on track to meet client needs. Partner with other Instructional Designers and Learning Consultants on the team to support the ADDIE process, as appropriate. Create evidence-based assessments and evaluation methods. Assume personal responsibility for projects and follow-through to completion with minimal need for direct supervision. Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification. At least 2 years of experience in Instructional Design for adult learners. At least 2 years of experience with learning content development tools (such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Adobe Design Suite, and Camtasia). Preferred Qualifications: At least 3 years of experience in Instructional Design for digital modalities. At least one year of experience in UI/UX and graphic design. At least one year of experience with mobile content creation, curation, and delivery. At least one year of experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and video editing software).
