GENERAL FUNCTION: We are seeking a talented and creative videographer to join our team. This videographer will work on a variety of programs, including public affairs coverage, high school sports, and history and culture content. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in video production and post-production, with an eye for detail and an interest in storytelling through visual media. Experience with documentaries and cinematic-style cameras is preferred. Must have well-rounded knowledge of cameras, lighting, and audio equipment, as well as editing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Shoot and edit video content for cable airing and for all the station's multimedia platforms.
- Operate all videography gear, including bonded cellular devices (Dejero or similar).
- Support History and Culture programming via documentary storytelling techniques.
- Direct multi-camera productions in the field, live or recorded.
- Support PCN Sports productions, including videography, directing, replay, audio, graphics, and producing.
- Contact onsite personnel prior to events to plan logistics.
- Lead field productions. Travel with the production team to sites and coordinate shoots. Have a proactive approach to decision making, problem solving, and implementing the production plan.
- Post-production, including editing, graphics, and any other visual elements required.
- Meet tight deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Practice journalistic and ethical integrity.
- Travel to and from events, sometimes over long distances.
- Required to keep PennDOT medical certificate updated, to drive PCN’s production truck.
- Other duties, as assigned.
BACKGROUND/SKILLS:
- Proven experience in video production and editing, and a portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere, and other tools within the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of videography techniques, including lighting, composition, and visual storytelling techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Self-starter.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a crew.
- Valid Pennsylvania drivers license.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and evenings.
- Ability to lift and load equipment weighing 50-pounds.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Organized, prompt, timely.
- Understanding of PCN mission, state politics, and public affairs.
- Minimum 2 years experience.
