Overview

CTG is seeking to fill a CAD Operator opening for our client in Anchorage, AK.

Location: Anchorage, AK
Duration: 12 months

Duties:

  • Modify technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for utility projects (such as electrical, water, gas, and telecommunications).
  • Ensure all drawings comply with company and industry standards, regulations, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field personnel to gather design requirements and implement changes.
  • Maintain an organized library of design files and documentation.
  • Assist in site surveys, data collection, and integrating GIS/mapping data into CAD drawings.
  • Review and revise drawings based on project feedback and field conditions.
  • Create accurate 2D and 3D models using CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other relevant tools).
  • Support project planning by generating detailed layouts and technical reports.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar CAD software.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to understand utility infrastructure design, including electrical, water, gas, and telecommunications systems.
  • Experience with GIS and mapping integration into CAD drawings is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (engineers, project managers, field personnel).
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to project requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects and documentation.

Experience:

  • Experience in utility design (electric, water, gas, or telecom) preferred.
  • Proven experience in creating detailed technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints for infrastructure projects.
  • Prior experience working with CAD software to generate 2D and 3D models is required.
  • Experience in utility construction practices is a plus.

Education:

  • Associate’s degree or certification in CAD drafting, engineering technology, or a related field.

Additional Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
  • Must be reliable and arrive on time every day.
