Summary

The Associate Creative Director (ACD) reports to the VP, Brand Marketing and is responsible for conceptualizing and creating compelling brand and product campaigns that resonate with our consumer, position Zevia as a cultural leader, and drive business growth.

This person will lead the creation of ideas that meet marketing strategies, all while ensuring the brand's voice and vision are consistent and proactively evolving. The ACD will work collaboratively with internal and external teams on creating and executing the concepts which will show up across all brand touchpoints such as social media, website, radio, video ads, activations, partnerships, and more. As a senior creative, you will inspire and motivate others to push the expression of our brand to always be distinctive and on strategy.

The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of creative experience at agencies and or brands with a strong copy writing background and a preference towards working on a CPG brand (ideally Food and Beverage). The ACD will be a brand ambassador who believes in Zevia's mission and products. We are looking for someone that gets the big picture and loves the little details.

  • Collaborate with both internal and external creative & social teams on the development and execution of campaigns/ideas.
  • Lead collaboration, brainstorms, and concept sessions for campaigns, creative concepts, brand moments, and activations
  • Write scripts for video concepts and work with designers on storyboards or production details to bring an idea to life
  • Write audio scripts and help cast and direct voiceover talent on style and tone
  • Think outside-the-box for brand activations and partnerships
  • Push the creative while understanding the needs of the brand and the strategy behind a brief.
  • Help source and manage freelance creative support when needed
  • Develop and maintain a strong, consistent brand voice and tone across all communication channels.
  • Craft clear, persuasive, and creative copy for all channels (including product and sales) that aligns with the company's brand and objectives
  • Proofread and edit content to ensure accuracy, clarity, grammar, and adherence to brand guidelines.
  • Capable of leading by example, fostering a positive work environment, and encouraging a culture of collaborative innovation.


Requirements

Competencies, Skills and Abilities
  • Proven track record of developing successful marketing campaigns that drive brand awareness and customer engagement among different groups of people
  • A creative storyteller with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse campaigns that are culture-driven and boundary-pushing
  • Considers themselves to be a "marketer", understanding the balance of great idea and how it delivers the brand strategy
  • Strong natural interest in and following of latest trends in culture, technology, traditional marketing, retail marketing, digital marketing and social media.
  • Develop creative ideas that are rooted in insights, trends, and can win in social
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated campaigns
  • Strong communication skills to influence and inspire teams, pitch creative concepts effectively, and craft marketing materials
  • Works with a positive attitude, thrives in a dynamic and busy environment, and can self-prioritize and get it done!
  • Would be described as eternally curious.
  • Is confident and is able to articulate their own creative point of view.
  • Interested in pushing the boundaries to build a brand.
  • Flexibility in terms of handling a variety of assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining focus on attention to details
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, proofreading skills plus verbal and written communication

Preferred Education and Experience
  • 6+ years of hands-on creative development and copywriting for creating exceptional brand experiences
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Design, or a related field
  • Experience working in a creative/agency environment is advantageous.
  • Proven experience working as a Copywriter is required.
  • Preferred CPG brand experience.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility but does serves as a mentor and coach to others in the department.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

$125,000 - $150,000 Annually + Bonus + Equity
