Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a cohesive commercial strategy to drive revenue across all business segments, including rooms, meetings & events, and food & beverage.
  • Interview, hire, train, recommend performance evaluations, resolve problems, provide open communication and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate.
  • Lead and motivate a tenured sales and marketing team to meet individual and collective sales goals. Train and guide the team to ensure high performance and achievement of set objectives.
  • Ensure training programs are conducted regularly, and Crescent standards of performance are met. Provide guidance and counsel staff toward improvement.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear directions to the staff.
  • Compile and/or direct the preparation of reports pertaining to the operation of the Sales and Marketing Department including annual and monthly Forecast, Lead Management System, Booking Report, star reports, and Sales Meeting minutes.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve annual revenue goals, focusing on high-value segments such as retail, group, consortia, and negotiated business.
  • Drive direct bookings and optimize relationships with OTA, GDS, and other distribution channels.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
  • Identify and secure strategic partnerships to enhance revenue and brand exposure.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure that group bookings and individual accounts are coordinated with transient demand to maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor performance, and internal data to identify opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Set annual, quarterly, and monthly sales targets, ensuring alignment with the hotel's overall business objectives.
  • Coordinate ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information for the development of new sales strategies.
  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • Negotiate and secure contracts with local, national, and international clients.
  • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction to foster repeat business and loyalty.
  • Lead the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns that support sales initiatives, including digital and consortia-focused strategies.
  • Create and execute innovative marketing campaigns, including digital, social media, and traditional platforms.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and alignment with the hotel's target audience.
  • Work with PR agencies and influencers to promote the hotel’s unique offerings and establish a strong community presence.
  • Develop promotional strategies for room sales, F&B outlets, spa, and special events.
  • Oversee content creation for website, brochures, and other collateral materials.
  • Collaborate with the revenue management team to optimize pricing strategies and inventory management.
  • Prepare and manage the annual sales and marketing budget, ensuring cost efficiency and ROI for all initiatives.
  • Monitor and manage the sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales performance, market trends, and revenue projections to the General Manager and ownership.
  • Identify areas to maximize profitability while maintaining the hotel's luxury positioning.
  • Work closely with operations to ensure seamless execution of group events and local catering initiatives.
  • Meet with and entertain clients, some of which will require travel.
  • Organize and/or attend scheduled Sales and Marketing Department and related meetings.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
  • Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Knowledge of the travel industry, current market trends, and economic factors. Extensive skill in development and delivery of sales presentations. Ability to access, understand, and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system. Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information, and resolve conflicts. Ability to stand and move throughout the hotel property and continuously perform essential job functions.
