MIT Technology Review is seeking an experienced contractor/freelancer editor to launch a new editorial product dedicated to helping busy executives understand how technology can be used to drive their businesses forward. The editor will commission and edit freelance stories that combine rigorous reporting and compelling narrative to illustrate how organizations should apply the principles of innovation, strategy, and technology in transformative ways.

This new initiative will serve as a practical resource for executives, offering actionable insights on how to integrate new and emerging technologies, especially AI, into their organizations effectively. In some ways, you could think of this new effort as the applied version of MIT Technology Review. It is where readers can learn how to take the emerging technologies they have read about in our coverage and implement them in their own businesses.

By showcasing real-world examples and strategies, the stories will empower leaders to make informed decisions that drive innovation, optimize processes, and navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape. The editor will work closely with MIT researchers and faculty, especially in its Sloan School of Management and Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Lab (CSAIL) to deliver cutting-edge insights to a managerial audience.

The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of technology and its real-world applications across industries, with a focus on engaging our audience of executives, decision-makers, and technologists. This editorial channel will help to make complex technologies more accessible and actionable while also maintaining the highest journalistic standards.

  • Work in close conjunction with other parts of the MIT ecosystem to bring cutting-edge technology developments into practical focus for a business audience.
  • Create timely service pieces based on new products, technologies, and services.
