The successful candidate for this part-time position will have a firm grasp of the fundamentals of shooting, editing, and writing. Must be able to work under deadline pressure—lifting equipment of approximately fifty (50) pounds. Edius editing software, TVU, and ENG live van operation knowledge are a real plus. Flexibility to work a schedule that includes holidays, nights, mornings, and weekends is required. A four-year college or university degree in video production, journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred.

Video Editor Job Responsibilities and Duties

1. Edits videos to targeted length and specifications
2. Handles and organizes raw and edited video files
3. Exports videos and facilitates mobile and web distribution
4. Shoots video and produces content as necessary
5. Explores different versions and directions
6. Ensures compliance with the highest journalistic standards
7. Adjusts formats and file sizes as needed
