Trevi Communications, Inc. is a boutique PR and marketing communications firm north of Boston with a 10-year history of excellence. We create meaningful content by crafting compelling stories that help clients build brand awareness, increase customer engagement, produce media coverage, and generate revenue.

We are strategic thinkers who provide hands-on tactical execution – developing and implementing day-to-day writing, editing and project management programs. Our agency is intentionally small and client relationships personal. We don't try to be everything to everyone. Instead, we focus on doing what we like to do, and what we think we're good at, for organizations we know we can help. We call it “artisanal PR.”

About you

We're looking for a smart, dynamic, and motivated individual with 1-2 years of full-time professional PR experience, preferably on the agency side, who wants to take on an important role on key B2B accounts. You should have at least a bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to PR, journalism or communications. Prior experience working on accounts as part of a PR team is a huge plus, as is a background in energy, technology and/or legal marketing.

Qualities and qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years of PR experience, preferably in a B2B agency setting
  • Adept at learning about new industries and staying up to date on current affairs
  • Knowledge of social media trends
  • Able to grasp and distill complex and technical information
  • Superb written and oral communications skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Able to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines with limited supervision
  • Willing to jump into new projects as needed
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge of AP Style
  • Experience with TalkWalker, Cision, HARO, Qwoted and other marketing tools

About the Position

Working directly with Trevi’s Principals and Account Executives, the Public Relations Associate supports development and implementation of PR and marketing communications programs for clients in the B2B energy, tech, and professional services sectors. This is a full-time, work from home, associate-level position.

Responsibilities include:

  • Research industry trends and stay up to date on current events
  • Monitor relevant trade media, tracking all press coverage to create monthly coverage reports
  • Research, build and maintain media, event and awards lists
  • Cultivate relationships with journalists and bloggers via careful research; conduct targeted pitching and secure placements
  • Edit press releases, media pitches, bylined articles, newsletters, blog posts, marketing collateral and website content
  • Assist in drafting press release and contributed article pitches for relevant industry media, pitching and conducting follow ups as needed
  • Research editorial calendars, as well as industry events and awards, for client opportunities
  • Coordinate media-client phone and in-person interviews
  • Conduct client-related research, support the development of agendas and client reports as needed
  • Attend meetings, events and conference calls, contributing as needed
  • Implement and maintain social media programs on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter and produce social media analytics across all channels
