Position Profile

The Technical Director role completes and contributes to the growth of the Electronic Systems group through the issuance and support of technical proposals, Marotta capability presentations and technical discussions. The Technical Director has extensive expertise in products and/or technologies in the Electronic Systems segments and is responsible for technical support of the Business Development team. The role is also responsible for identifying and pursuing new customers and platforms for these products and/or technologies through proposal and presentation support.

This role is responsible for the technical support of the proposal Bid Manager and working with engineering as the voice of the customer during early opportunity development and discussions with the purpose of attaining an RFI and/or RFP.

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • 5-7 years’ relevant work experience in high performance Electronic Systems in the Aerospace and Military industries and can be considered a subject matter expert in an area related to these products and technologies
  • Familiarity with government contractual procurement procedures, standards, and quality requirements
  • Exemplary verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as all outside agents, including but not limited to vendors, suppliers, customers, potential job candidates, etc.
  • Highly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
  • The ability to achieve expert knowledge of the Marotta product portfolio and Tactical Systems engineering capabilities.
  • Considerable experience in the best practices in the design, development, fabrication test and transition to production of Electronic Systems.
  • Must be a US Citizen
Essential Or Primary / Key Responsibilities
  • Review and assess compliance with the customer’s specifications and sub-level specifications.
  • Coordinate with engineering on system level architecture and technical approach.
  • Review the Marotta Product Portfolio for potential of design re-use.
  • Responsible for leading and constructing the technical proposal response.
  • Responsible for initial business development customer discussions and presentation formulation for new opportunities.
  • Update and maintain the Tactical CAS capabilities presentation.
  • Support technical capabilities discussions with the customer.
  • Coordinate the creation of a preliminary bill of material in the business system and verifying its accuracy.
Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment.
  • This job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment.
  • Travel potential up to 25% (National)

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.
  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.

This position is at our Parsippany, NJ office location. Many of our contracts require proof that you are a U.S. citizen and/or that an export license has been obtained for employees who are citizens of certain countries.
