The ideal candidate will be passionate about civic engagement and community building, with a strong background in marketing, social media management, and event promotion. About the Civic Joy Fund The Civic Joy Fund is a San Francisco-based nonprofit initiative of the Civic Space Foundation. Our mission is to revitalize San Francisco by investing in and organizing projects that bring joy to the streets, through initiatives like Neighborhood Night Markets, Clean up the City and Downtown First Thursdays. Position Overview As our Marketing Manager, you will report directly to the Deputy Executive Director. You will be responsible for working with the Deputy Executive Director to develop comprehensive marketing strategies to increase awareness, engagement, and participation in our events and civic projects, and take the lead on implementation. Location and Logistics The Marketing Manager is expected to work on site within the City of San Francisco. The Civic Joy Fund’s office is at 446 Valencia Street but the team works all around the City. We typically work remotely on Mondays and this role will include some evening and weekend work as a majority of the volunteer programs will occur at those times. Key Responsibilities Marketing (70%) Help to develop and take the lead on executing marketing strategies to promote the Civic Joy Fund’s mission, events, and initiatives Support rapid response communications, as needed Manage and grow our social media presence across all platforms Create engaging content for our website, social media, and other marketing channels Oversee website updates and maintenance Analyze marketing metrics and adjust strategies accordingly Management (5%) Create content collection plan for events that will strategically leverage content for marketing efforts Manage contractor tasked with gathering video and photo content at events Event support (25%) Collaborate with artists, musicians, small businesses, and community leaders to promote events and civic engagement initiatives Attend Civic Joy Fund events to promote and explain our organization’s contributions, as needed Support Organizing Director in the planning and promotion of civic events and projects, as needed Qualifications Must have: 2-4 years experience in marketing, social media, communications, or other relevant roles Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent project management and organizational skills Nice to have: Experience in community organizing or civic engagement preferred Compensation and Benefits Salary: $80,000-$100,000 per year Full-time position with flexible work hours 100% matched and uncapped 403b retirement plan Health, vision and dental coverage The Civic Space Foundation is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating an inclusive work environment.
