We are looking to hire a Content Strategist to join our Sports & Outdoor team based in New York.
Salary range - $62,634 - $76,000
Please note, this is not a marketing role. We are looking for a Content Trend Forecaster who has the ability to demonstrate world class written, video and visual reports/content.

Are you a Sports & Outdoor expert with a deep understanding of team, field, court, and club sports? Are you able to deliver world-class trend forecasts, design direction and analysis that meets and exceeds the expectations of our clients? If yes, please read on further.
We’re looking for a Content Strategist to join our Sports & Outdoor content team in the US and become an integral part of our team.
With proven industry experience, the Strategist will have a deep understanding of the Sports & Outdoor market. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background and working knowledge of team, field, court, and club sports, as well as an in-depth understanding of trend forecasting, innovation, industrial design, CMF or new product development for sports equipment and hardgoods. With a focus on personal content creation, you’ll also collaborate with a team of international experts and provide informal support to team members.
What will you be doing?
- Research new ideas and create solution-driven forecasts that clearly understand client needs across multiple Sports and Outdoor categories, delivering this content in written, image, video or audio formats.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for researching new trends and innovation and creating solution-driven forecasts showing a clear understanding of client needs across multiple Sports & Outdoor categories.
- Forecasting and tracking the Sports & Outdoor Industry with quantitative and qualitative data within all markets and demographics.
- Deliver traffic growth by consistently evaluating internal data and client feedback to improve content standards and relevance.
- Active participation in the content for WGSN trend days and WGSN’s Strategic Forecasting.
- Work with international freelancers to commission and edit content.
- Edit team’s content, ensuring content standards are met and ready for sign-off as directed.
- Collaborate with Sports & Outdoor team and wider content teams across multiple industries.
- Travel nationally and internationally to cover industry trade shows, conferences and other events as required.
- Work with the Sales teams to support client relationships as directed.
- Speak with clients to understand their needs.
- Work with the consultancy arm, Mindset on research when required.
- Provide quotes for press and broadcast media as required.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required
- Proven knowledge working in the Sports & Outdoor Industry in sports equipment, hard-goods, and outdoor gear.
- A good understanding of the macro to micro trends across consumer and adjacent industries.
- Proven experience of research, analysis, writing and editing content.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the role data and analytics plays in commercial success.
- Ability to analyse data and pinpoint trends that will impact the market.
- Good written English.
- Ability to take ownership of personal assignments, prioritise workload, and informally support other members of team.
- Good organisation, communication and collaboration skills.
- Technical skills: Google Workspace, Adobe Creative Suite, Slack, Social Media platforms.
