Bay Area, CA, US Posted Date: 09/24/24 The Role: We are looking for a Product Designer to join our growing design team. Our focus is to create world-class experiences for our customers. We pride ourselves in rethinking established paradigms and bringing creative solutions into existence in the commerce space. The Commerce team is committed to bringing financial freedom to all our customers. We are at the core of Cash App's mission—redefining the world's relationship with money. We're making Cash App and Afterpay the most loved way to pay for buyers and sellers by designing spending tools that are more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible. Our charter is to design simple, useful, and delightful experiences that maximize trust and expand access to BNPL and pay monthly products. This role demands a dynamic balance: diving into hands-on design for a variety of practical products and mentoring other designers—ranging from expanding access to pay monthly, growing our ecosystem of BNPL products, and integrating solutions within a personalized checkout experience. Our product designers take a product, feature, or experience from ideation to production. This includes vision setting, designing solutions, prototyping, bringing along cross-functional teams, overseeing implementation, and collaborating with other designers, researchers, product managers, analysts, and engineers. This role is available for remote work in the US (West Coast preferred). You Will:

Be accountable for the craft of the experiences and interfaces that our customers interact with Promote an inclusive environment for creativity and growth, and facilitate connections across teams and disciplines Make strategic design decisions as a partner to Business, Product and Eng and be a voice for leveraging design across the organization Bring comfort and expertise in technical environments, including knowledge of the mobile client-side and web development process Be an influential voice alongside peers in Product, Engineering, Data Science and Customer Insights You Have:

8+ years of experience as a Product Designer A passion for turning complex problems into simple and engaging solutions An innate understanding of the end-to-end design process - from identifying customer needs and pain points to delivering exceptional customer experiences Brought ideas to life in prototypes to enhance the customer story Interpreted data and informed design decisions based on both qualitative and quantitative insights Applied consumer insights and metrics to inform design decisions and influence the product roadmap Comfort with an iterative design process that includes soliciting and acting on feedback Strong systems thinker with the ability to connect the dots across the entire customer journey Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to influence outcomes Lead with the voice of the customer and have a deep understanding of human-centered design principles Establish a design voice in critique settings to help support team members An active influencer with strong business acumen to help demonstrate the value of design Previous experience designing solutions for checkout with flexible payment options A passion for connecting consumer checkout experiences with our merchant partners An ability to simplify complex lending eligibility scenarios to unlock access for more customers A passion for solving technical problems to enhance our payment and spending tools Experience mentoring other designers, providing feedback and coaching work Please submit a deck or portfolio of work with your application that showcases your design process from exploratory stages through execution.
