Sr. Financial Analyst, Amazon/MGM Studios Accounting: Business Controllership

Amazon MGM Studios is seeking a Senior Accountant in the Business Controllership group managing the revenue operations, accounts receivable and various accounting functions in a timely manner. The successful candidate will work with cross-functional stakeholders and members of the team to interpret legal agreements, prepare accurate accounting entries, and perform analysis to routinely deliver error-free results and assist with all facets of our cash collection and revenue processes.

Key job responsibilities
Enter executed agreements into financial systems, review and approval of team agreement entries. Review and approval of amendment/ deal memo terms. Cash collections: billing, cash collections, cash application, filing and reconciliations. Monitor contract status and follow up on past due statements/ payments. Provide projected revenue and cash forecasting updates. Liaise with internal sales departments, legal and business affairs, accounting, finance department, and P&R to assist with audits/ provide confirms and backup as needed. Perform or assist with account reconciliations, create and submit statements of account as needed. Evaluate client statements against agreement terms to ensure accuracy of reporting. Process client statements in ledger to record revenue and AR. Create various monthly reports for sales teams across all divisions. Assist sales, tax and legal departments on an at-need basis. Analysis and updates of revenue recognition, projected revenue and cash basis customers. New business partner review and approval. Assist with advance with MG recoupment processing, system approvals and department reporting. Ad hoc efforts as required. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 3+ years of Accounts Receivable (AR) experience - Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field - Strong ability to read, interpret, and comprehend complex deal terms PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience in identifying, leading, and executing opportunities to improve, automate, standardize or simplify finance or business tools and processes - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions - Must be extremely detail oriented, with ability to multitask, prioritize high work volume, and shift work priorities, as needed
