MEP Design Manager, R&D Infrastructure Design
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, construction, and project management.
The role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen.
This role requires you to be extremely detail oriented, identify real hard barriers, and drive the cross-functional teams to execute quickly at high quality.
Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams within A/E firms.
Fully understanding all engineering disciplines and be able to demonstrate skills to manage engineering resources.
Proven record in delivery of IFB, IFP and IFC packages.
Experience designing R&D facilities, workplace, and site infrastructure development.
Experience working with AHJ’s and be able to build strong relationships with local jurisdictions.
Advanced project management skills demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems.
Subcontractor and third-party consulting firm management experience.
Willingness to travel to support infrastructure development as required in North America.
Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends as needed by the projects.
Experience with Process Piping required and strong mechanical HVAC background.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will be asked to own and drive the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to build. Organize and manage design reviews, construction design packages and deliverables to support all aspects of construction, including scope of work, kick-off, MDR, 30%, 60%, 90%, IFP, IFC. Define strategies for design and engineering deliverables including construction and permit packages. Manage permitting and construction documents including transmittals and RFI’s. Manage customer requests. Own project funding request process in collaboration with construction team. Coordinate project schedule with construction team based on Procurement and Construction requirements for the overall schedule success of the project. Fundamentally understand stakeholder’s requirements and translate them into project deliverables. Distill, document, and manage scope effectively to support highly dynamic environment. Manage all aspects of technical planning, scope development, change management, programming, design, and engineering services during construction. Identify resource requirements and highlight gaps across various stages for all projects. Build and maintain strong relationships with the various cross-functional teams to ensure overall program alignment. Understand different project delivery methods including design bid build, integrated project development, and fast track projects. Understand lean construction principles and fully integrated design using BIM. Implement innovative engineering and design methodologies to support very aggressive program and construction schedules. Influence various teams without direct reporting structure. Compensation and Benefits
