The Director of Strategic Marketing is a member of the senior leadership team of Nordson MEDICAL Surgical Solutions Division, based in Allen, TX. In this role, you will successfully lead strategy and growth initiatives for the division globally. This includes key business processes such as development of the strategic plan leveraging the Nordson Business System (NBS Next) growth framework to identify and prioritize new business initiatives. The Director of Strategic Marketing will ensure the Division: Develops and executes an effective business strategy with a focus on growth, market and competitor analysis Has effective product lifecycle management, in addition to branding, communication and lead generation strategies leveraging Nordson MEDICAL’s centralized marcom team Has a strong Product Innovation roadmap, identifying new applications and markets in strategic growth segments Is optimizing go-to-market strategies and plans in collaboration with other senior leaders Has a built-out M&A roadmap developed in conjunction with the Corporate Development team The Director of Strategic Marketing will also provide management oversight for setting global marketing business priorities, establishing stretch goals, overseeing development and execution of action plans to achieve and deploying resources optimally to drive results. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Support the development of the strategic planning process, including the analysis and prioritization of potential initiatives for growth based on market, customer and competitor analysis, and presentations to leadership, executives and employees Drive key business processes such as VOC and key market insights and analysis, and support deployment of the strategy; track implementation plans to ensure the right level of focus and execution Partner with Surgical Solutions Leadership team and their teams to assess new business opportunities and develop implementation plans including the product and innovation road map Define and track key strategic performance metrics and develop root cause counter measures for misses Customer and competitor analysis, segmentation, targeting and positioning. Market research and market value chain analysis and break-even analysis and decision making Optimize pricing, including pricing strategy and tactics, strong understanding of relevant costs of pricing and product positioning and its relation to customer segmentation and valuation Support the M&A process, including analysis of possible targets in alignment with strategic goals and ensuring new products are integrated into the division Establish credibility, rapport, respect and trust throughout the organization, be viewed as a team player, and work effectively in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Manage timelines, budget, and organizational reporting and analysis effectively Education and Experience Requirements Bachelors degree in marketing, business or related field
required . MBA or other graduate degree preferred Leadership experience in strategic marketing, strategic planning and analysis, including relevant professional experience in having led products through full life cycle preferred 8+ years’ experience on the commercial side of Medical Device manufacturing Required Skills and Abilities Experienced marketer with the expertise to create and promote the profitable growth of the Company. Key functional responsibilities will include: Marketing strategy, product management, market and competitor analysis, branding and lead generation Creativity and vision; Proactive, with ability to self-direct through multiple concurrent projects Effective communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams Leadership and management (of employees, projects and partners) Successful candidates will work in a dynamic team-based environment where individual contributions make a difference Working Conditions and Physical Demands Office environment.
