Civil Designer Job at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Richmond

Position Summary:

The Designer’s primary function is to draft and design (with guidance from engineers) site developments. Typical elements will include roads, layout, water and sewer, drainage, grading, stormwater management, and erosion control. The Designer will be responsible for meeting project schedules as assigned by Supervisor.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design project elements using relevant engineering office software, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
• Provide design calculations using spreadsheets and specific software to solve specific problems.
• Respond to comments from regulatory agencies.
• Communicate with internal design team and regulatory agencies as directed by Supervisor.
• Work closely with Supervisor to complete projects within schedules.
• Complete required training courses, videos, and materials.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience.
• Personal organization and time management skills.
• Able to build strong relationships with coworkers.
• JR Designer – 0-4 years of experience.
• Designer – 3-10 years of experience.
• SR Designer – 10+ years of experience.
