Design Lead

Job Summary
The Design Lead plays a pivotal role in steering the design team towards delivering innovative and user-centered design solutions. This position is responsible for setting design standards, contributing strategically to design initiatives, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure that design efforts are aligned with overarching business goals. The Design Lead will foster a creative environment that encourages team collaboration and innovation, ultimately enhancing the user experience and driving business success.

  • Key Responsibilities
    1. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and integrate design thinking into software and product development processes using design validation methodologies.
    2. Lead a team of designers by providing guidance and support, ensuring the delivery of high-quality design solutions through effective design validation techniques and tools.
    3. Present design concepts and strategies to stakeholders, utilizing design validation feedback to refine and enhance design outputs.
    4. Establish and maintain design standards, guidelines, and best practices, ensuring adherence to design validation principles and methodologies.
    5. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging insights to drive innovation and excellence in design validation practices.

Skill Requirements
1. Strong understanding of design validation principles and methodologies.
2. In-depth knowledge of design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or Figma.
3. Proficient in user experience (UX) design principles and user interface (UI) design standards.
4. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey design concepts effectively.

Certification
1. Optional but valuable certifications in UX design, UI design, or design thinking methodologies.

Compensation and Benefits
A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law. This role may also be eligible for performance-based bonuses subject to company policies. In addition, this role is eligible for the following benefits subject to company policies: medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, life, accidental death & dismemberment, and disability insurance; employee assistance program; 401(k) retirement plan; 10 days of paid time off per year (some positions are eligible for need-based leave with no designated number of leave days per year); and 10 paid holidays per year.
