Responsibilities:
PennyMac is looking for an experienced, creative, and nimble Contract Video Editor to join our in-house video team, Greatness Lives Here Studios. As a Contract Video Editor, you will be responsible for editing, producing, and organizing a large volume of original content for digital platforms, social media, broadcast and nationwide events. Push creative limits/styles and apply relevant trends and cultural influences to produce topical information that connects with everyone across different generations and conveys company message to internal, B2B, investor, and consumer audience. To ensure success as an editor, you should have expert knowledge of modern video editing techniques, contemporary style and cutting techniques applicable to both long and short form video, advertisements, social media trends, etc. Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and meet strict, often overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment is essential. Be able to visualize concepts, build a story arc, create storyboards, and work according to industry regulations. Must also have strong technical skills in video hardware, software, video storage, transcoding, audio, sound design, color grading, basic footage retouching, integration of motion graphics and top-notch organization skills. Must be proficient in sourcing and integrating existing footage and assets to enhance video projects while maintaining a seamless and original aesthetic. Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners across divisions, contributing positively to the team and leading as a role model.
Day-to-day:
- Produce and execute content that aligns with, strengthens, and elevates PennyMac brand standards and strategic goals
- Collaborate on video shoots, contributing creatively and technically for both studio and on-location productions
- Perform required post-production tasks, including color correction, application of visual effects, sound design and mixing
- Organize and help structure digital asset management system that is conducive to store and source a large volume of footage and diverse media assets
- Establish, maintain, and refine comprehensive pre-production, production, and post-production processes, including checklists and best practices documentations
- Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values
Qualifications:
- Work portfolio required with examples of video editing, animated content, videography, etc.
- Proven professional experience as a video editor in a production house, agency, in-house team, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience with Premiere Pro as a video editing tool
- Understanding of videography principles and techniques i.e. standard color correction and VFX as needed
- Experience with audio mixing and recording for both video and animated content
- Bachelor’s degree in film studies, cinematography, or related field.
Plusses:
- Skilled with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite, Davinci Resolve, and After
- Experience working with AI for video editing techniques
Notes:
- This role is entirely based on editing with projects based on deadlines. The candidates will either be developing the work, putting together storyboards/looking through footage, or editing. They will meet with other teams casually to discuss what is needed for the project.
- Someone who is passionate about video editing and creative work in general will thrive here – ideally a candidate who primarily edits, but has other talents such as writing, audio, design, etc.
- The team includes VP Creative Production, another Video Editor, an editing intern, and an Art Director of Film Photography.
Compensation:
$50/hr to $56/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
