What’s the role?

Tevora is seeking a Technical Editor to join the Quality Assurance department. This role is perfect for an individual who is passionate about proofreading and editing. The Quality Assurance team at Tevora reviews all outgoing deliverables before they are sent to clients and assesses them against Tevora’s Style Guide. We protect Tevora by ensuring that our documentation represents our consultants, our company, and our clients accurately.

A successful candidate for this role possesses excellent proofing and editing abilities and some experience with, or a desire to learn, technical terminology related to cybersecurity while being motivated, positive, and capable of working independently on a wide variety of documents. This position will begin as part-time, with the potential for full-time advancement based on performance and business needs.

A day in the life could include:
  • Reviewing various report deliverables (such as gap reports, compliance documentation, penetration test reports) and making or requesting edits from the report authors
  • Fixing or suggesting improvements to report templates and page layouts
  • Communicating with project stakeholders on the quality of and expected turnaround time for reports in review
  • Creating, updating, and maintaining custom document templates in Microsoft Word
  • Reviewing evidence associated with submitted projects to ensure all phases of the project lifecycle have been completed
  • Researching information security topics or taking training courses to brush up on your familiarity with cybersecurity concepts and terms
Necessary skills and qualifications:
  • Strong editing and writing skills with a focus on clear, concise writing
  • Ability to follow and rigorously apply Tevora’s Style Guide to submitted reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college (or equivalent)
Desirable but not required:
  • Previous experience working as a copy editor or proofreader of technical content
  • Familiarity with basic information technology or information security concepts
