Position Summary:
Seeking a passionate and creative designer who has experience in graphics, accessories, and lifestyle design. The ideal candidate has experience in creating and manipulating graphics as well as designing packaging and lifestyle accessories. They are driven individuals, a collaborator that will join the Accessories Design Team in exploring new product varieties and continue to expand the accessories category at Kith.
Location: HQ - Williamsburg, Brooklyn
Status: 100% on-site
Compensation: $75,000-85,000
Responsibilities:
- Work alongside and report alongside the Senior Designer across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Research, identify, and present accessories trend direction, create and present design boards for each season showcasing accessories direction.
- Work closely and collaborate with the Design Directors, Designers, and buying teams to develop accessories for packaging, collaborations, and projects.
- Translate seasonal concept direction into a cohesive and innovative accessories collection.
- Sketch CADs and create tech packs for the product and packaging that need to be completed.
- Ensure the accessories are consistent with line plans, designed with cost and technical parameters in mind, working closely with design and material partners to ensure point of view is in line with overarching seasonal direction.
- Manage packaging, seasonal, and SMU projects to meet all deadlines.
- Create tech packs for the products and packaging that need to be completed.
- Manage branding decks, seasonal color palettes, and trim development.
- Organize samples and trims by development stages and corresponding collections.
- Manage the product life cycle and collaborate with our product development and production partners from sketch through pre-production and production samples.
- Attend weekly design meetings and recap with designers as well as cross-functional partners.
- Set up and organize for milestone meetings, ensuring the seasonal samples are in order for presentation purposes.
- Liaise with SMU partners on sample hand-offs and coordinate tracking.
- Liaise with the archive team to manage sample loans and ensure their proper return and archival.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in graphic design and industrial design in the fashion industry.
- Must provide a portfolio of work and references.
- Proficient in Photoshop and Illustrator, with strong rendering capabilities, with freeform renderings as a plus.
- Strong understanding of graphics, lifestyle accessories development, construction, and application of artwork techniques.
- Experience developing products directly with factories; understanding of development from concept through engineering.
- Understanding of graphics, color, and print required.
- Experience and knowledge of product development process/calendar/timeline.
- Experience in creating mood boards and conducting market research.
Skills:
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Google Suite, and the PLM system.
- Expert level creative and technical skills in Adobe programs, keeping up to date with new features, is a must.
- Excellent technical knowledge and understanding of construction.
