About GRIP:
Global Relay is an innovative business and this extends to its approach in developing highly engaging and informative content services for its prospects, customers, partners and employees.
GRIP, which is an acronym for Global Relay Intelligence & Practice, was launched in early 2023, is a product in its own right and will be a new revenue line in 2025.
GRIP functions with a high degree of editorial autonomy, has its own team and identity, and, being fully supported by Global Relay and its founder, is not held back by the usual foundational obstructions that start-ups have to put in place such as resource, infrastructure, capital and premises.
GRIP delivers a modern and practical streamed content service that focuses on informing the C-suite on essential developments, news, and intelligence to enable them to conduct their roles with speed, confidence and precision.
The GRIP founding team has considerable experience in this area and has a strong track-record in meeting its business objectives.
Your role:
You will research, source and create content for publication and/or broadcasting for our specialist information service. You will play a pivotal role in planning, crafting and delivering content that appeals to, informs and stimulates a professional audience. You will also be responsible for the updating and expansion of our GRIP Rules Navigator – a structured, methodical and accessible collection of key rules and guidance summarized in plain English. You will also support the Content Manager US in all key aspects of the US operation and will work alongside an experienced team based in London.
This role reports to the Content Manager US and is based in NYC.
Your responsibilities:
- Carry out independent research and write timely, informative and insightful articles on ongoing developments in the key areas covered by GRIP (compliance, data, ESG, regulation and technology)
- Update and expand the GRIP Rules Navigator, connecting this content to our daily coverage with an eye toward building training resources leveraging these rules
- Help research topics for coverage, deeper dives, event and podcast coverage
- Assist with the creation of podcasts for GRIP on a variety of topics pertinent to a US or global compliance audience
- Expand GRIP coverage to encompass changes to Canadian rules and regulations
- Develop leads and contacts and maintain close relationships with our professional community
- Help staff in the New York office in preparing for and conducting events for clients, prospects within the corporate and regulatory arenas
- Assist US Content Manager with all ongoing projects, including work with the product and sales teams as needed to answer queries and cater to individual client requests
- Ensure that content published out of the US meets the high standards expected by a sophisticated and demanding US and global professional audience
- Adhere to GR policy and legal and contractual guidelines
- Represent GRIP and GR as required at conferences as well as external and internal corporate events
- As a subject matter expert engage with prospective and current customers as required
About you:
- Interest in compliance, regulatory affairs, technology and the legal ecosystem
- Ability to listen to and build rapport with contacts, leads and sources
- Demonstrable ability to produce interesting content for a specialist audience
- Experience in independently generating content that differentiates a publication
- Demonstrable research and writing experience and skills set
- Affinity for technology, systems and processes
- Outstanding attention to detail

Qualifications:
- A background that included writing and research as significant portions of the job.
- Formal legal or compliance training and demonstrable experience working with rules and regulations (in any industry) strongly preferred.
- An awareness of both US and Canadian financial regulators and regulations would be an asset, but is not a strict requirement
- At a minimum a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
