The UI/UX designer is a creative and detail-oriented member of the software development team. This job is responsible for designing intuitive user experiences and visually compelling interfaces for Washington Trust Bank. The UI/UX designer will work collaboratively with a cross-functional Agile team turning user insights into impactful designs that maximize client experiences in custom developed applications.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct user research, such as user interviews, prototype testing, card sorting, and other UX work.
- Conduct user research and analysis of existing designs to align user needs with product goals.
- Perform design work, making decisions about typography, color palettes, and individual UI elements such as buttons, icons, and forms. Expand brand guidelines as needed by consulting with the brand manager. Create interactive designs such as interactions between UI elements and users for mobile and desktop.
- Create wireframes and prototypes to communicate the look and feel of the UI before development.
- Create and maintain a UI style guide to ensure design consistency across all custom developed platforms and low-code tools.
- Create personas and journey maps where needed.
- Create and maintain site maps and information architecture.
- Adhere to IT standards and procedures and assist with the development of standards and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing personal and professional development through training, seminars, research, and/or other avenues.
- Participate in special projects or duties as assigned.
- Perform compliance and risk management duties as required or assigned.
- Regular, reliable attendance is required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical people.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role.
- Required experience and proficiency with:
- Figma
- Balsamiq
- Jira
- Preferred experience and proficiency with:
- HTML/CSS
- Vue
- Microsoft Power Apps
- Knowledge and understanding of AGILE project management methodologies such as SCRUM.
- Demonstrated proficiency with various applications and tools, including the Microsoft Office suite of products, spreadsheets, word processing, database, email, networking, development tools/languages, Internet applications, and collaboration tools such as SharePoint and OneNote.
- Strong detail orientation with a high level of organizational skills and ability to multi-task, managing interruptions with multiple projects.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and initiative; ability to work well both independently and with others.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and handle multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of service to clients in a deadline-driven environment under the direction of management.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with and work effectively with diverse groups of people, managing conflict and negotiating for results when needed.
Compensation: $83,743 - $125,669
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position located in Spokane, Washington. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. This position is eligible to participate in an applicable annual bonus plan.
