POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Production Artist provides graphic production and quality assurance for print-based collateral, packaging, and visual display projects for design teams and other partners. Works with various levels of design leadership and project managers to ensure designs translate to finished production-ready files for printing and fabrication. Requires foundational understanding of production processes and output requirements for various media. Focuses on organization and efficient workflows, striving to deliver high-quality results while maximizing productivity.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Design & Production Responsibilities
- Handles final press-ready design, layout and formatting of materials
- Prepares production-ready art as needed for clients (e.g., Truist, Walgreens, etc.)
- Tasks include: production art, design extension, photo manipulation, guide updates, file organization, file transfers and responding to production-related questions
- Ensures graphic standards of quality
- Consults on graphic design development issues when needed
- Monitors SmartSheets to track ongoing jobs and input time to jobs
- Identifies potential print problems to avoid rework and to reduce costs
- Works closely with Production Manager to ensure proper production workflow
- Manages daily assigned projects, consistently fulfilling deadlines and client expectations
- Responds positively to changes and shows willingness to learn new processes and techniques

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year college, university or art school in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Communications or closely related field.
Experience: 3-5 years preferred. Minimum three years large-format print production experience a plus.
Special Skills/Qualifications: Adobe Creative Suite; Mac OS; MS Office. Emphasis on apps associated with print and display such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat. Must understand how to design and work with various architectural scales and be comfortable reading elevations and floorplans.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and/or push up to 30 pounds with mechanical assistance. This position requires stooping, kneeling, bending, manual dexterity, repetitive hand and arm coordination, finger dexterity, vision acuity both far and near with depth perception. The incumbent will both sit and stand performing this job.
