Sr. Director Marketing & Business Development
to join our team! Summary :
The Senior Director, Marketing & Business Development reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and leads, manages, and executes marketing campaigns in support of the agency’s objectives. S/he is responsible for uncovering customer insights, developing marketing strategies, identifying effective and efficient marketing tactics, and flawlessly executing campaigns. This role supervises a team of marketing product managers, brand managers, and business development staff who identify and generate sources of farebox and non-farebox revenue for the agency. Roles & Responsibilities: Oversees development of strategic, researched-based annual marketing plan that meets agency’s revenue and other business goals. Develops and manages marketing campaign budget. Devises creative, tactical approaches to co-promotional, new business partnerships, grassroots marketing, direct mail, and conventional advertising. Uncovers customer insights from available data sources. Successfully manages staff, including identifying professional growth and development opportunities for junior and mid-level employees. Coaches and enhances staff technical skills and knowledge of the regional travel and transit marketplace. Represents NJ TRANSIT at external functions and activities. Develops and nurtures relationships with potential commercial partners, including local and statewide businesses. This Position Supervises: Product & Brand Marketing Team (2-5 members) & Business Development Team (2-5 members) Education, Experience & Qualifications: Baccalaureate Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field and ten (10) or more years of progressively responsible experience in research, development, brand development and management, strategic analysis, marketing, and advertising. Must include at least five (5) years of managerial experience with proven track record of managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge & Skills: Strong grasp of marketing fundamentals. Working knowledge of marketing trends, technologies, and emerging platforms. Strong interpersonal and excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Working Environment: Office, with occasional offsite travel.
